bi-modal facility study
Phase one was set in motion in the first part of 2009 for the Defiance County inland bimodal facility. This initiative is a co-op between Defiance County CIC, Defiance County Commissioners and the City of Defiance. During this phase, these three entities seek to identify a need, potential use and development of a bimodal facility. The three entities hired Mannik & Smith who partnered with The Corradino Group to conduct a five month Marketing Feasibility study. This bimodal facility will concentrate on two modes of transportation, Rail and Road. The Corradino Group has facilitated many similar studies all over the United States including in Detroit and Kentucky. Mannik & Smith will provide the Corradino Group with key area statistics and insight into the communities.
